Behind the Scenes Tour: The American Revolution at Connecticut Museum of Culture and History

History enthusiasts can explore rarely seen treasures from the Revolutionary era during Behind the Scenes Tour: The American Revolution at the Connecticut Museum of Culture and History on July 23, 2026.
Part of the museum’s popular behind-the-scenes series, this special evening tour offers access to collection storage areas that are not normally open to the public. In recognition of the 250th anniversary of American independence, visitors will have the opportunity to view remarkable artifacts from the museum’s Revolutionary War collections and learn about their significance from museum staff.
Highlights include Nathan Hale’s diary, letters signed by George Washington, and other rare objects that help tell the story of Connecticut’s role in the nation’s founding. The tour provides a unique look at historical materials typically kept behind the scenes and offers insight into how the museum preserves and cares for these important artifacts.
The program takes place from 6 pm to 7 pm on July 23, 2026, at the Connecticut Museum of Culture and History, 1 Elizabeth Street, Hartford, CT 06105.
Tickets are $15 for general admission, $10 for Connecticut Museum members at levels under $150, and free for members at levels of $150 and above. This event is currently sold out.
