Rebellious Exhibit Tour at Connecticut Museum of Culture and History

Explore stories of resistance, activism, and change during the Rebellious Exhibit Tour at the Connecticut Museum of Culture and History.

Centered around the question, “What does the Declaration of Independence mean to you?”, the museum’s Rebellious exhibition examines moments throughout Connecticut history when individuals and communities challenged the status quo in pursuit of their own visions of life, liberty, and happiness. Through artifacts, personal stories, and historical perspectives, the exhibition highlights the many ways Connecticut residents have come together to spark change across generations.

Visitors can gain deeper insight into the exhibition through a guided tour led by museum staff. The tour offers an opportunity to learn more about the people, events, and movements featured in the exhibit and to reflect on the ongoing meaning of freedom and civic engagement in America.

Tours will be held from 2 pm to 2:30 pm on July 3, July 5, July 19, August 16, September 20, and October 18, 2026, at the Connecticut Museum of Culture and History, 1 Elizabeth Street, Hartford, CT 06105.

The tour is included with museum admission, and no advance registration is required. Guests interested in accessibility accommodations, including ASL interpretation, are encouraged to contact the museum in advance.
