Blues & Beyond at The First Congregational Church of Stamford

A powerful evening of music and storytelling unfolds during “Blues & Beyond,” presented by The First Congregational Church of Stamford on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 6 pm. Held at 655 Stillwater Road, Stamford, CT 06902, this special concert offers a moving exploration of African American history through song.

Led by Creative Director Eric Finland, a classical and jazz pianist who earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Performance from Berklee College of Music, Blues & Beyond traces the evolution of African American music from early field hollers and camp meetings to spirituals, the Blues, and the foundations of today’s popular music. Through rhythm, melody, and narrative, the performance highlights how music has served as both a reflection of history and a voice for change in the United States.
