Rock of Ages at Thomaston Opera House

The high-energy musical Rock of Ages will be performed by LCT Student Theatre at the Thomaston Opera House this August, bringing audiences back to the wild spirit of 1980s Hollywood. Featuring performers ages 13 to 19, this student production promises big voices, big dreams, and even bigger hair in a rocking tribute to glam metal’s heyday.

Set on the Sunset Strip in the final days of its golden era, Rock of Ages follows aspiring musician Drew and hopeful actress Sherri as they chase their dreams at a legendary nightclub. Their story collides with that of egotistical rock icon Stacee Jaxx and a looming threat from corporate developers seeking to tear down the famed Strip. Against a backdrop of hits from Styx, Journey, Bon Jovi, Whitesnake, and more, this musical celebrates youthful ambition and the enduring power of rock and roll.

Performances will take place at 8:00 pm on August 9, 15, and 16, and at 2:00 pm on August 10 and 17. Admission is $26 plus processing fees.
