7th Annual Photography Exhibition at Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo

Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo will host its 7th Annual Photography Exhibition on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, celebrating the creativity and talent of photographers who have captured the beauty of the Zoo’s animals, plants, and grounds. The event is free and open to the public, including photographers, family, and friends.

The evening begins at 5:30 pm with a meet and mingle session and an opportunity to view the exhibited photographs. At 6:00 pm, awards will be announced for First Place, Second Place, Third Place, Judges’ Choice/Honorable Mention (3), Zoo Director’s Choice, and People’s Choice. Light refreshments will be available on the Hanson Building’s back deck.

Photos selected for the in-person exhibit were chosen from digital submissions and were required to be taken on Zoo grounds. Participants whose work was selected were asked to provide an 8×10 printed and matted version of their photo for the show.

The event also acknowledges the contributions of judges Jack Bradley, Denise Lukienchuk, Roger Salls, Ashlie Steinau, and Jesse Thompson, as well as Milford Photo for sponsoring the exhibition with prizes totaling $350 in gift certificates.
