Smith College in Northampton, MA is presenting their annual Spring Bulb Show now through March 19th. The Spring Bulb show is a tradition that has been going on for over a century. Several thousand bulbs are persuaded to simultaneous bloom, normally they bloom at different times of the year, to give the feel and look of spring. The show features crocuses, hyacinths, narcissi, irises, lilies, and tulips. Accompanying the bulbs are several paintings illustrating the bulbs through art.
The show is opened to the public every day of the week until March 19th.
Hours: Monday through Thursday 10:00 am to 4:oo pm., Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm.
Cost: A donation of $5 is suggested.
While at the botanic garden, after wondering through the greenhouse housing these fabulous bulbs, to sure to visit the other greenhouses full of plants from all over the world. The Botanic Garden has a wide variety of specialty gardens.
Smith College is located at 16 College Lane, Northampton, Massachusetts and is about an hour drive from Hartford.
