Massage Envy asked us to try out one of their popular Murad Healthy Skin facials and we gladly obliged. I have to say that facials aren’t a regular part of my beauty routine but after visiting the Massage Envy location and seeing how relaxing a facial can be for your well-being, I might reconsider. Our lives are go, go, go and go some more and we don’t often take the time to fully relax. When we walked into the Massage Envy West Hartford location the atmosphere set the tone for full relaxation.
The staff is super friendly and takes the time to find out about your specific needs starting with a one-on-one conversation. You will need to come a few minute before your appointment to fill out the Facial Wellness chart that will help the esthetician learn more about what your skin requires.
We brought along Rosa from Lady Diana’s Pearls who received a complimentary Murad Healthy Skin facial during our visit.

Like me, most people don’t understand the benefits that a good professional facial can offer. Your skin is always on display and often decides how we feel about ourselves. If you are lucky enough to have been born with good skin genes and small pores, you may not understand the frustration and anguish others go through who struggle with skin problems. Good skin care can help you maintain healthy skin.
I learned that one of the reasons behind getting a monthly facial is that your outermost layer of skin will completely renew itself approximately every 28 days and a facial increases circulation of the blood under the skin allowing the renewal of skin cells. A facial will cleanse the pores deeper, exfoliate better than you can achieve at home, and can help smooth fine lines and wrinkles.
Facials and massages are given in comfortable rooms, where low lighting and soothing music will take you away to a calmer place. A Massage Envy facial starts with an interview by a professionally trained esthetician who will discuss your skin history and find out about any problems you may be having. Starting with the cleansing of your skin and removal of makeup, the estheticians begins to look at your pores up close and gives you suggestions for your particular skin issues. She will then choose the kind of exfoliating mask your skin needs. All of the products and techniques used next are based on your skin type so they will be different for each person. While you relax and wait while your treatment takes effect, your Aesthetician will massage your neck, shoulder and arms. Having a facial or massage is therapeutic which benefits all areas of your life.
Once you find an esthetician you like, you should build that relationship and keep going back to him or her so you can get consistent results for your skin. Massage Envy offers membership plans, gift cards, and a Military Discount Program.
