Outlet Light Brewing Company Opening in Groton

Outer Light Brewing Company just opened a 4,500 square foot brewery and taproom in Groton, Connecticut. Named after the breakwater lighthouse at the mouth of the Connecticut River, OLBC opened its brewery and taproom at 266 Bridge Street. The company plans to distribute its craft brews to bars, restaurants and liquor stores in kegs initially, with 12 oz. bottles to come this summer. “We are thrilled to get started. We are eager to become part of the local community and bring fresh, great tasting beer to craft beer lovers in the area,” said Tom Drejer, co-founder of OLBC.

“We are also looking to connect with local food trucks, and we encourage customers to order food in or bring take-out down to the brewery and have a few pints. We want our taproom to be viewed as equal parts bar, public gathering space and experimentation space for flavorful and unique brews,” said Drejer.

In addition to their experimental releases, OLBC will produce three year-round beers:

Drejer’s passion for beer dates back to 1998, when he began homebrewing. He has since built a corporate career but never lost his love for friends, family, surfing and, of course, craft beer.

Tyler Cox, a six year veteran of commercial brewing in North Carolina, joined the company in January to direct brewing operations.
