For Christmas we decided to purchase the Melissa & Doug Stained Glass Window Art Kit for our oldest grand daughter (almost 8 years old) because she loves to do crafts. I thought it was something unique enough that she hadn’t done anything like it before and would be excited to try it.
When we visited our grandkids over the holidays we gave it to her and the next day when we came back to visit she had already completed it. She told me she had fun doing it and was going to hang it in the window in her bedroom.
I chose the Hummingbird design because I love all of the hummingbirds that come in our yard during the summer months.
The Melissa & Doug Stained Glass Window Art Kit is a simple project and very inexpensive. I purchase this on from Amazon and it was around $8.50 (Retail it is $9.99). This project is designed for ages 5 to 15. The finished project measures 8″ square.
Inside the box you will find the board with a diagram already printed on it to make placing the stickers super easy. It also comes with a larger paper chart that is color coded. No glue is required so that means no mess.
Remove the stickers and press them into place using the diagram to figure out were they go. The wooden frame already has a hanger attached and when the kids are done it is ready to hang.
The photo below is a little dark and it makes the frame look brown. The frame is actually a lighter purple/lavender color on one side and a beige color on the other side. The beige side has the Melissa & Doug name on it.
Up close the finished Melissa & Doug Stained Glass window looks almost like a real stained glass window except this one is much more child friendly and not made out of glass so you don’t have to worry that it will break.
