Luxury awaits you at every turn at the Madison Beach Hotel. The charming Madison Beach Hotel, sits slightly back from the beautiful beaches of Long Island Sound. The elegance of the hotel was reborn during its extensive rebuilding and featured to the public when it reopened its doors in May of 2012.
Their exact address is: 94 West Wharf Road, Madison, Connecticut.
When you’re not in your room, sit in the lobby seating area and relax near the fireplace. The decor results in a warm and cozy atmosphere.
We took a tour of the property during the Fall so it was much quieter and no one was on the beach. During the warm months the beach is open to the public and the hotel is bustling with visitors and locals. On our tour we stopped at the gym and private spa. Available to all guests, the fitness center is loaded with modern exercise equipment. Strengthen and tone your body using a selection of cardio machines, free weights, and universal weight machine. With the sun shining upon you through the windows surrounding the dedicated yoga studio / exercise room your yoga routine will be enhanced. The Saturday morning yoga class is open to the public. During good weather, the yoga class is held on their private beach.
After your workout in the fitness center, it is time to relax and rejuvenate your mind and body at The Sea Spa. Take in one or all of the excellent spa offerings, including: massages, facials, manicures, and pedicures. Each luxurious treatment room, featuring hand painted wall paper, exhibits a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. While you are waiting for or after your treatment, unwind further in the relaxation room by sipping a soothing imported tea or flavored waters and munching on a healthy snack.
Every one the 32 guest rooms features a furnished balcony, and a picturesque view of the Sound. Rooms come with one king or two double beds and several amenities including high-speed Internet access and a flat screen TV with cable. Each room was designed to have all the comforts and conveniences you could wish for to enhance your stay, from the plush bedding and luxurious linens to the refrigerator and coffeemaker.
Madison Beach Hotel is a pet friendly (canine only) hotel, that wants your dog to enjoy its stay as much as you do. The pet friendly rooms are on the ground floor with a veranda, making for easy access bathroom breaks. Your four-legged family companion will have its own “Special Doggie Amenities:” including yummy biscuits, bowls for food and water, and a doggie bed.
Each “King Room” offers a gas fireplace and a bathroom with a soaking tub as well as a glass enclosed rain shower. Upon return to your room, turn down service will ready your luxury linen-covered bed for restful sleep while leaving you a sweet surprise.
If you arrive on a Friday afternoon, be sure to attend the complimentary Owner’s / Manager’s wine reception sometimes held in the owner’s private suite on the second floor.
The views of the Long Sound Island from each room are spectacular. Take some time to sit on your private porch and watch the sunset.
Your culinary cravings can be satisfied by The Wharf Restaurant, which offers an extensive menu showcasing farm-to-table cuisine made from seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. They use traditional techniques to create dishes that bring forth the flavors of the Atlantic northeast. You can start your day with a gourmet breakfast and finish it with a decadent dessert made in their in-house pastry shop. For that before dinner cocktail or a light meal you visit the Port, their hotel bar. During the warm months of the summer, enjoy your cocktail or dinner on their porch. Next season the porch area will be open longer as they have installed removable clear plastic walls and will be installing outdoor heaters next year.
From September to April The Wharf is offering a Specialty Dinner Series. The Specialty Dinner Series features multi-coursed meals, expertly paired with fine wines and a special speaker complements the evening, bringing expert knowledge on the night’s themed meal.
On Sundays, the Madison Hotel removes all of the furniture in the lobby area and replaces it with tables of delicious food for their brunch, which runs from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Live jazz music fills the dinner area during the brunch. We had the opportunity to try the brunch, complimentary of the hotel and it was excellent.
If breakfast is what you want, there is an omelet station serving up exceptionally well made omelets to order, bacon and sausage, Lyonnaise potatoes, stuffed French toast, and eggs Benedict.
On the appetizer table you will find poached salmon, roasted grill vegetables, imported cheese and fruit, smoked duck, and sliced fresh fruit and berries. At the cold salad table, one can find a variety of pasta salads, antipasto , and winter greens.
