Green Smoothies: Spinach, Kale, Blueberries, Honey, and Cacao Chips

One of the simplest ways to get your fruit and veggies each day is to drink a smoothie. They are super simple to make and taste great. Here is our recipe for a Spinach, Kale, Blueberry, and Cacao Chip smoothie.

We use a single-serve blender and this recipe is just enough for the small cup. Double the ingredients to make a smoothie that is for the large, 8 oz cup.

Green Smoothies Recipe with Spinach, Kale, Blueberries, Cacao Chips

Ingredients:

  • fresh kale
  • fresh spinach
  • fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt (our favorite is Yoplait)
  • Navitas Cacao Chips

Directions:

Wash kale and spinach under running water. Cut leaves into small pieces if they are too large. The leaves should be about 3″ long. Place kale and spinach in a blender cup until the cup is about half full .

Add yogurt, honey and about 10 blueberries. Blend well.

We like to blend for about 15 seconds and remove the container and shake it so the leaves move down. Blend it again for another 15 seconds and repeat until all of the kale and spinach leaves are mixed in. Then blend for about one minute until all ingredients are smooth and there are no little pieces left.

Add a handful Cacao chips on top and drink up. If you prefer you can blend the cacao chips with the other ingredients to make them blend in.

Cacao nibs are made from pure cacao beans that come straight out of the tropical cacao fruit. Cacao was a culinary treasure to Mesoamericans for thousands of years and touted as the “Food of the Gods” for its superior nutritional profile and exceptional flavor. Navitas Naturals Cacao Nibs are crunchy chocolate just as nature intended, in an easy to use and versatile form.
