Each year we have a lot of snow here in Connecticut and since we had problems in the past with the paint finish getting scratches, we decided to look for a better solution to the traditional ice scraper. I have also seen these snow removal tools at car dealers and wondered what they were and if they would work so I purchased one to test it out.
You may have heard of the Sno Brum, the tool you can use to easy and safely remove some from your car or other vehicles. It’s the best tool to us to remove snow and not scratch your car’s paint. The Sno Brum costs around $30, slightly cheaper if you buy from Amazon.
I wasn’t able to find the Sno Brum brand locally but I found a similar brand so I could show you how it works. That is why the photos look different. The actual Sno Brum is blue and red but they both work the same.
The Snow Brum has a head made of hard plastic that has polyethylene foam covering all of the edges. This is the part that protects your car’s finish and doesn’t scratch the glass. The head measures 17″ x 6″. The adjustable telescoping handle extends from 27-inches to 46-inches for plenty of reach. It has an extra cover over the end of the handle with an opening so you can hang it on the wall in the garage or wherever you store you broom, if you want.
I found that this Snow Brum removes both snow and ice and solves our problem to protect our car’s paint and finish. You have to use the edges to get the ice off but it works fine. The handle is long enough that it goes all of the way across the windshield and also on the top of the car or SUV. We own VW Touareg SUV and it works great.
This Snow broom is designed to remove snow and ice from your car and not from your house. I have seen comments that buyers think this is for snow removal from a roof. It is not. It is not sturdy enough for that and the manufacturer never says that it was it is designed for. If you are looking to remove snow off of your roof you should look for a Snow Roof Rake.
