Chief Furry Officer, or CFO for short, manufactures custom pet gifts and gifts for pet owners as well. I had the chance to review their custom, photo smartphone case. Of course, while I like dogs and all animals in general, I’m definitely a cat lover. No problem they said! We can accommodate your cat photo and would be glad to do it.
What arrived in the mail was a custom case for my iPhone5, completely with a photo of one of my cats, Psycho Kitty. He doesn’t look psycho in this photo, but believe me he is!
At the writing of this article, this case is available for iPhone 4/4S, iPhone 5/5s/5c, Samsung 3 and Samsung 4. Check their site to find out what is available at the current time. They come in white and black.
This is a form-fitting case that covers the entire phone but has ample openings for the speakers, headphone port, power, and an generous opening for the camera.
I was impressed that they were able to transfer the photo quality of my image (which was set to 350 dpi) onto the case. You can hardly tell the difference in the original photo and the photo that is presented on the case. You really do need a high resolution image to use if you are going to get this case or any custom photo products because otherwise, the image will come out grainy and pixelated.
Here is what the original photo looks like. Click on it if you want to see it larger. It will open in a new window.
The case is sturdy and has rubber edges to help protect it from breakage. The case itself is hard plastic and is not rubberized. The photo is actual embedded on a panel that is permanently fixed onto the front of the case. It fits smoothly and is flush with the edge of the case. Inside, a rubberized, raised honeycomb padding helps to protect the phone.
If you are like me, you like to show off your pet as you would show photos of your kids and grandkids. Having a photo smartphone case is just the way to do it.
