Friends of Boulder Knoll, Inc., a local educational and advocacy group, announces its two upcoming fundraising dinners on the farm. All proceeds from the event will benefit Friends of Boulder Knoll’s educational programming and donations of healthy local produce to area soup kitchens. Both events will take place at Boulder Knoll Community Farm, located at 875 Boulder Road in Cheshire.
The “Feastival on the Farm” on Sunday, July 20, 2014 from 4-7pm is a fun, family-friendly and delicious celebration. The afternoon will feature gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches topped with Boulder Knoll produce by The Cheese Truck and farm fresh side dishes. There will also be education stations, tours of the farm, hayrides, a raffle, and live music. Tickets are $35 for adults or $15 for children.
The Farm to Table Dinner is presented with generous support from Caseus Bistro of New Haven, Southend Wine and Spirits of Cheshire, Black Hog Brewing Company, and the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven.
The “Farm to Table Dinner” on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 6pm will feature an elegant family-style farm dinner experience showcasing a seasonal menu using farm-fresh produce . Critically acclaimed chef Jason Sobocinski, owner of Caseus Fromagerie and Bistro in New Haven and Smoke Box BBQ in Hamden will craft a masterful BBQ inspired meal. The dinner will be matched with wine pairings from Southend Wine and Spirits of Cheshire and craft-beer pairings by Black Hog Brewing Co. of Oxford. Attendees will also enjoy a silent auction featuring extraordinary items donated by local businesses and live music by Hannah Fair, local bluegrass musician.
