The Garden Club of Madison invites visitors to the Enchanted World of Fairy Gardens on June 14, 2014 at the Veteran’s Memorial Garden on the Town Green. A guided walk to the Deacon John Grave House to tour the house and visit the Fairy Gardens located in the Perennial Gardens and the Wildflower Walk will take place at 10 am. The Fairy Garden Village was created by the Junior Girl Scout Troop 60343 who participated in the Education Outreach Program led by Julie Elting. From there you can visit the Allis-Bushnell House for their Historic House Tour and view the Fairy Houses designs in the Perennial Gardens and Herb Garden. The Seaside Garden at East Wharf Beach will the the last stop to view designs with the sea in mind.
Children will delight in the fairies and miniature furniture. They are invited to dress for the event and join in a “Dance of the Children” at 3:00 p.m. The first 40 or so children to arrive will receive fairy wings and wands.
Refreshments will be served and the event is free!

Outgoing President Margaret Hopkins’ mission has been to make the Garden Club of Madison and all the work the members do more visible in the community by opening our six civic gardens to the public on June 14, 2014 “The Enchanted World of Fairy Gardens” and Historic House Day in Connecticut.
