Farmer’s Markets are a great way to get fresh fruits, vegetables, handmade soaps, jams, pastries and more all the while supporting local Connecticut farms and businesses. Most towns in Connecticut now have Farmer’s Markets running from May or June to at least October.

The East Granby Farmer’s Market is a town initiated project which was transitioned over to a handful of volunteers who formed the EGFM Committee, overseeing the Market. Vendors with specialized products such as maple syrup, honey, flowers, goat cheese, fresh bread and local crafts will rotate depending on product-supply demand.

The first Saturday in November, the market moves inside to the Velvet Mill, 22 Bayview Ave., located at 28 Cutler Street in Stonington. The winter market provides a great meeting place for the community. On cold winter days it’s fun to stop in for a hot cup of homemade soup, a chat with friends and to see what the farmers and craft vendors are offering. Get there early before the green house spinach or baby bok choy sells out! A variety of musicians cheer up a gray day and craft vendors offer unique gifts for the holiday season. The winter market is held Saturdays from 10am-1pm from November through April.

We are one of the only year round markets in Connecticut with green house veggies.

  1. Hey there!! Im friasfoto on twitter! I work with the town of hamden and bethany planning special events I have 3 farmers markets that Im managing this year! One on fridays at town center park in Hamden11-3, one on mondays in southern hamden 3-7, and one in bethany on saturdays from 9-1.

    Im also organising 2 food truck festivals at town center park, june 20th and oct 17th, and The Hamden road race June 7th . If you give me your email I can email you fliers and press releases for all my events!
