From the time you landed at the top of the escalator at the Connecticut Convention and picked up your tickets, to the last moment you left the building, you were well-fed and entertained by chefs at SavorCT, “a celebration of wine, food, and spirits”.
Savor’s Grand Tasting was a two-day event showcasing culinary delights from well known celebrity and regionally acclaimed chefs including Robert Irvine, Ming Tsai, Mary Ann Esposito, Tyler Anderson, Jeffrey Lizotte, Marc Summers, and Beau MacMillan, to name a few.
Joining the lengthy list of talented chefs were renowned vintners sharing their expertise and wines, as well as several beer breweries and spirit distillers. During the all-inclusive Grand Tasting attendees could sample creative and sumptuous cuisine, fine wines, craft beers and top-notch spirits. During each session, several chefs gave demonstration, sharing their signature recipes and culinary secrets. Three local mixologist demonstrated their craft by creating their signature gin libation.
One could evaluate their Savor experience even more by partaking in the Chandon Bubble Lounge, where one could kick back and relax in a lounge setting and while enjoying a flute of Chandon Sparkling Rosé and light bites. While enjoying your champagne one could raise their flute with a celebrity chef as they popped in and out of the lounge.
This fabulous event closed out with the Savor in Style Charity Gala that started with a Chandon Sparkling reception, followed by an evening full of savory bites and bountiful wine, beer, and cocktails. The gala, hosted by Robert Irvine, showcased culinary cuisine from culinary celebrities Robert Irvine, Mary Ann Esposito and Ming Tsai joined by distinguished regional chefs Tyler Anderson, Billy Grant, Jeffrey Lizotte and many others. Each of the chef’s amazing creations were paired with the perfect wine, beer, or spirit. During the event, an auction was held with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the Robert Irvine Foundation, who’s “mission is to support individuals and organizations committed to enriching the lives of our military personnel (active, retired and veterans) and their families. The Foundation also strives to create awareness throughout the community of the sacrifices made by our military personnel and their families, and inspire community support for the men and women defending our freedom.”
This memorable evening was a well organized walk-around affair, where one enjoyed bubbles to dinner to dessert, while listening to live music and palate pleasuring cuisine and libations.
Be sure to get your tickets for next year’s event, which is being held April 8th and 9th, as there will be a limited number available and they will sale out quickly.
