Woodcock & Spring Peeper Walk (Greenwich Audubon)

One of our favorite signs of spring at Audubon Greenwich is seeing and hearing the aerial mating display of the American Woodcock. Join us for a special evening walk to look for these secretive shorebird relatives as well as newly emerged amphibians such as Spring Peeper frogs and Salamanders. Spring Birding Class: Bird Watching Basics (Audubon Center in Greenwich)

Before you can spot the 200 species of birds that call Audubon Greenwich home for some part of the year, it all starts with the basics. Following an indoor introduction to Ornithology as well as to the tools and skills used in bird study, enjoy an afternoon walk to discover the wonders of bird watching. Spring Birding Class: Birding By Ear at the Greenwich Audubon will be held on April 6th. Discover tricks and techniques used for identifying birds by their calls and songs. We will start with an indoor lecture where you will learn how and why birds vocalize as well as listen to recordings of common species of birds. Spring Birding Class: Wood Warblers & Neotropical Migrants at the Greenwich Audubon will be held on April 13th. Warblers are our most colorful spring visitors and often the most sought after to see as they journey northward to their summer breeding grounds. Signs of Spring Family Play Date at Greenwich Audubon

As the weather warms, join the Greenwich Audubon on April 14th to celebrate the beginning of spring with fun for the whole family! Plants and animals emerging from their winter slumber and the world around us display sights, sounds, smells and other amazing signs of Spring.
