Tree Climbing Competition at the Connecticut College Arboretum

Watch as the region’s most skilled climbers compete for the coveted title of New England Champion and a chance to compete in the grand finale, known as the International Tree Climbing Championship, to be held this summer in Columbus, Ohio. Climbing categories include: Aerial Rescue, Belayed Speed Climb, Work Climb, Footlock, Throwline, and Master’s Challenge.

There will be a kid’s climb, too, so bring the whole family!

This unique and exciting event is free of charge and open to the public.

  • 6:45am – 1:00pm Tree Climbing Championship Preliminary Events
  • 10:00am – 1:00pm Kids Tree Climb (Suggested donation $10 per child)
  • 2:00pm – 5:00pm The Master’s Challenge Event (the finals)
  • 5:00pm – 6:00pm Results & Awards

The competition will take place on the in the trees around the green south of Harkness Chapel on the campus of Connecticut College in New London. The New England Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture (NEC-ISA) is pleased to announce that the 29th Annual New England Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture Tree Climbing Championship will be held at Connecticut College in New London, CT.
