New Haven’s Fourth Annual Repeal of Prohibition Party

December 2, 2017 @ 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm

New Haven's Fourth Annual Repeal of Prohibition Party

Celebrate the 4th Annual Repeal of Prohibition, Saturday, December 2 in New Haven, Connecticut. In 1920, The US government passed the 18th Amendment, ‘The Volstead Act’, prohibiting the sale and consumption of ‘intoxicating liquors, wine and beer’. Prohibition, as it was called, threw the United States into a dark and violent period with massive amounts of violence and corruption. Crooked politicians, bootleggers and gangsters flourished until the government REPEALED PROHIBTION, with the 21st amendment on December 5th, 1933.

Please join us to celebrate this momentous anniversary on Saturday, December 2nd, 2017 at some of New Haven’s finest Restaurants and Taverns (listed below). Each participating restaurant, from 5-10pm will serve two special ‘prohibition era cocktails’ at a reduced price. We encourage everyone to dress like your favorite flapper, bootlegger, gangster or crooked politician….just like you were living in 1933!! We look forward to seeing all of you in your hats, spats, pearls and boas!! Over 500 people celebrated with us last year! We look forward to even more flappers and bootleggers this time around!!
