October 4th is the debut of the Essex Board of Trade’s annual scarecrow presentation along the Main Streets of Essex, Centerbrook, and Ivoryton! Gather family and friends to pick out your favorite and, then, submit your choice to a participating retailer for a chance to win the Scarecrow Contest!

Winners will be announced at the Essex Halloween Parade and on the Essex Board of Trade Facebook page.

Plus, October 4 is the The Griswold Inn’s Big Reveal Open House from 5-6:30 pm on the new patio behind the Hayden House just across the lane from the Main Inn. Enjoy live music, complimentary refreshment and a walk-through of the newly renovated house.
