Lunarfest 2019 New Haven: Celebrate the Year of the Pig

Celebrate the Year of the Pig in New Haven as the New Haven Museum teams with the Council on East Asian Studies at Yale University and the Yale-China Association for Lunarfest 2019. The event offers activities and programs for all ages featuring food, art, music, literature, and dance. All activities are free and open to the public. The inclement weather date will be February 23, 2019.

Lunarfest begins at 10:00 a.m. with a colorful lion dance and performances on Whitney Avenue, between Grove Street and Trumbull Street, and onto Audubon Street.

The fun moves indoors at 1 p.m. Activities include children’s arts and crafts; calligraphy; music; dance lessons, paper-lantern making; language classes; cooking demonstrations; poetry; theatre; exhibits, and more.

Activities will be offered at nine locations: New Haven Museum (114 Whitney Ave.), The Council on East Asian Studies at Yale University, Luce Hall (34 Hillhouse Ave), and the Yale-China Association (442 Temple St); Neighborhood Music School (100 Audubon Street); Creative Arts Workshop (80 Audubon Street); Ely Center of Contemporary Art (51 Trumbull Street); Affinity Federal Credit Union (55 Whitney  Ave.); Yale University Office of International Students and Scholars (421 Temple St.), and all five branches of the New Haven Free Public Library (http://nhfpl.org/locations-hours/).
