Litchfield Crossing’s Spring Celebration “Get the Dirt on Gardening”

Come meet representatives from the Connecticut Audubon Society at Litchfield Crossings Spring Event on May 6th from 11:00 to 3:00 on the Panera patio. “Get the Dirt “on the Society’s newest Center at Deer Pond Farms in Sherman Ct. The 385-acre property bequeathed by the Kathryn D. Winston Estate is now the largest sanctuary in the State of Connecticut.

Founded in 1898, the Society’s mission is to conserve the environment through education and advocacy focusing on the state’s bird population and their habitats. Also, on site will be “Get the Dirt” beneficiary, the CT Chapter of the Sierra Club, the nation’s largest and most influential grassroots environmental organization. Members will be handing out information and meeting and greeting gardening and environmental enthusiasts.

Most of all enjoy this family fun day. Taste the honey from the Monkey’s Pocket Apiary. Get advice from Meadowbrook Garden’s landscape pros. Visit vendors with handcrafted products, meet the baby goats, the newest members of the Goat Boy family, producers of soaps and lotions and many others.
