Grand Opening of Roses for Autism Garden at Pinchbeck Farm
June 3 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
The public is invited to the official grand opening and ribbon cutting of the Roses for Autism Garden at Pinchbeck Farm. Celebrate the unveiling of the sensory garden at the nonprofit Roses for Autism farm. The different beds are specifically designed to inspire all of the senses to be both therapeutic and educational for a variety of individuals, particularly those with disabilities that affect their sensory responses, as is the case with Autism.
The festivities include:
- Live music
- Family Scavenger Hunt
- Food Trucks such as Snickering Coyote Craft BBQ
- Balloon artists and face painting by Picasso Parties of West Haven
- Raffle Prizes
FREE Entry with donations always appreciated. All proceeds support the programs and services at Roses for Autism.
Roses for Autism created the sensory garden last year as a gift to the community. However, the garden was twice destroyed by vandals before it could open. After an outpouring of goodwill and donations, including a custom gazebo, the beautiful space can be enjoyed by all. The public is also invited to learn more about the job training program that is changing the lives of young adults affected by Autism.
Roses for Autism is a 501(c)(3) non-profit social enterprise whose mission is to foster meaningful employment for individuals with Autism. Since 2009, Roses for Autism at the historic Pinchbeck Farm (RFA), in partnership with its parent company Ability Beyond, has helped over 130 individuals with Autism gain valuable hands-on work experience. Proceeds from flower sales and its exclusive Ardent Rose perfume fund scholarships and career training for transition age students with Autism. Visit rosesforautism.com
