Digital Photography [The Basics] Clinic

Perhaps you own and shoot with a digital camera, but are ending up with less than satisfactory images. Or maybe you’re producing some great pictures, but don’t know how you’re doing it. This, then, is the course for you.

Cost: $40.00

All the basic photography concepts will be presented and discussed in depth.

These will include:

Aperture settings
Shutter settings
ISO settings
Camera’s light meter
Depth-of-field
Lenses
Backing-up images
Cataloging images
Digital editing programs

You also will learn camera hand-holding techniques, what accessories to bring on photo shoots, whether a camera bag or camera vest is better for your shooting style, and why using a tripod or monopod can be advantageous to your photography.

You should bring your digital camera, along with the camera’s instruction manual (Very Important). Also, be sure you have a full charge on your camera battery (ALSO VERY IMPORTANT).

You will receive a handout when you arrive to class. It contains lots of information that will allow you to spend less time taking notes and more time listening and participating in class.

No Prerequisites Required.

We will be meeting in the café at the Glastonbury Barnes & Noble Bookstore. You will be able to recognize my table by the portable monitor or two attached to the laptop computer.

You might want to bring a light sweater.  Some people find the place a little cool at times.
