The Connecticut Historical Society’s (CHS) Haute History: A Vintage Inspired Fashion Show on May 9th that will help you make the connection from the past to make your current fashion statement. Want to learn how clothing design over the past century has informed today’s trends?
In two runway shows on Saturday, May 9 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. at CHS, 1 Elizabeth Street, Hartford. Haute History will feature costumes from the 1910s through 1970s that serve as inspiration for vintage-inspired runway looks that will be provided by Clinton Crossing Premium Outlets.
As images of costumes from the CHS collection are projected on the wall behind the runway stage, models will demonstrate how to add vintage touches to any wardrobe.
Adding perspective to the runway show, CHS experts and commentators will explain the design and history of twentieth-century fashion and the connection to today’s styles. Before and after the two shows, visitors can tour a pop-up exhibit that features costumes from the 1910s through the 1970’s, enjoy light refreshments and tour the museum galleries.
