It’s Corn Maze season, when the corn is high and farmers make all kinds of cool designs and mazes for your enjoying pleasure. It is also a great way for farmers to earn a little extra money with their crops. Most Connecticut corn mazes open around September 1st and close in October or early November, depending on the weather.
Kids and adults alike enjoy running through a corn maze and it’s the perfect way to spend a glorious Fall day in Connecticut. Couple it with a leisurely fall foliage drive with a walk through an adventurous corn maze and you’ve got an affordable New England day trip. Many of the corn mazes are located at orchards where you can get apples, cider, and pumpkins: even pick the apples. The kidlets can visit cows, horses, and see farmers at work. What a great educational outing for the whole family.
The corn maze popularity has increased throughout the United States over the past several years and also provides a way for farms to orchards to generate extra income which helps keeps farmers in business in the state of Connecticut and around New England. Many of the mazes offer both day and night tours. Some even have haunted tours as Halloween draws closer.
