In preparation for the Savor – A celebration of Wine, Food & Spirits event that will be held at the Connecticut Convention Center in April, we were invited to a press event hosted by the new Vue 24 Restaurant at Foxwoods Resort Casino. Vue 24 is located on the 24th floor of the beautiful Grand Pequot Tower hotel. Vue 24 features skyline views of the beautiful Mashantucket property, golf course, sprawling forests and more.
Savor: A celebration of Wine, Food & Spirits is coming to the Connecticut Convention Center April 7th through 9th. The three-day event will spotlight some of the world’s top culinary talent in partnership with celebrity chef Robert Irvine, host of the Food Network’s “Restaurant: Impossible.” Irvine will be joined by other well-known chefs, world-renowned vintners and spirits enthusiasts who will come together to share their love for exquisite flavors with the local community.
A portion of the proceeds from Savor benefit the Robert Irvine Foundation, a non-for-profit organization that honors the men and women defending our country. The Foundation’s mission is to support the individuals and organizations committed to enriching the lives of our military personnel and their families. “Through Savor’s generous donations, we have been able to provide a paramobile for a veteran, supported Operation Rebound with sports and fitness activities through the Challenged Athlete Foundation and assisted homeless veterans through A Veterans Community,” said Chef Robert Irvine, a former member of the British Royal Navy. “We’re thrilled about bringing Savor back to Connecticut and have been working closely with our partners to have endless culinary options available bound to satisfy every craving.”
We were able to sample some amazing food that Vue 24 has to offer. Fruit smoothie “shooters” and a cold lobster-shrimp-orzo salad, house made potato chips and a bacon grilled cheese were on the menu at this event. Check out their full menu to see what the new Vue 24 Restaurant has to offer.
The dessert selection was just as impressive, with a decadent chocolate cake, chocolate covered strawberries, and cupcakes and macaroons provided by the new Cake Restaurant by chef Franck Iglesias that is opening in the Spring at Foxwoods Resort Casino.
