38th Annual Faxon Law New Haven Road Race
Sept. 7, 2015
The Faxon Law New Haven Road Race takes place on Labor Day 2015 on the New Haven Green. Races are available for all types of runners, ranging from 5K to 20K, as well as a half-mile Kids’ Fun Run. The New Haven Road Race is also home to the USA 20K Championships, which features the nation’s top distance runners including past Olympians Desiree Linden, Molly Huddle and Blake Russell. The first 6,000 entrants in this year’s race will receive tech tees. At the race’s conclusion, the New Haven Green hosts a post-race party including live music, inflatables, hot dogs, ice cream, Harpoon beverages for 21+, an awards ceremony and more. College Street Music Hall’s Premier Concerts
September 10 through September 30, 2015
The College Street Music Hall, Connecticut’s newest music venue located in the heart of downtown, opened in May 2015 and will debut various concerts this summer. Upcoming shows include Melanie Martinez (Sept. 10) and The Doobie Brothers (Sept. 17). Concert tickets start at $25 per person and guests of all ages are welcome.

College Night on Broadway, an event held each September by the Broadway Merchant’s Association, will take place on Friday, Sept. 11 from 5pm – 9pm. The event takes place in the Broadway District and offers local college students a chance to shop while enjoying free pizza, ice cream, cookies, and donuts in addition to fun activities such as Henna Tattoos, Palm Reading, Fortune Telling, a Photo Booth, and a raffle to win prizes from local merchants. Somewhat Off the Wall

Held at The Gallery at EleMar, Somewhat Off the Wall is a unique art exhibition and party that allows guests to select and take home original works of art that are showcased in the gallery. This year’s event, being held on Sept. 12 from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. will feature drawings, jewelry, paintings, wood, pottery, and prints by 49 outstanding artists who have each donated three pieces of their work. Beginning at 7:00 p.m. on the night of the event, numbered premium tickets will be drawn at random. As each premium ticket holder’s number is called, he or she will select a piece of original artwork to take home. Claire’s Corner Copia 40th Anniversary

New Haven Grand Prix

The New Haven Grand Prix, a 20-30 mile bike race around Elm City, brings professional-level competitive cycling to New Haven as participants will battle for $6500+ in cash and prizes. This event also features demonstrations from pro stunt rider Chris Clark as well as a Kids Zone for families. A pre-registration rate for the adult races is available for $50, and day-of registration costs $60. Registration closes 15 minutes before each race. The musical groups, sponsored by HealthyCT, performing at the event are now confirmed. Below is a listing of artists and their show times:

Coinciding with the New Haven Grand Prix, Taste of New Haven will present an inaugural APizza Feast from 4:00 – 10:00 p.m. on Sept. 18. The APizza Feast is a food truck festival featuring the region’s best mobile pizza makers and dessert trucks, as well as two beer gardens providing 12 different taps to serve beer from Sierra Nevada and local New Haven breweries. New Haven Block Party

Presented by Xfinity, The New Haven Block Party is a community-led gathering of New Haven’s creative talents held on the historic Upper New Haven Green. The block party will feature bands from the local universities, food trucks, local artists and more.
